Four important points of Internationalizing a Journal

 

In the era of scholarship, reputable scientific journals should have four points: scholar registration, scholarly certification and recognition; dissemination of scholarship to the public; and academic documentation. 

Di era kecendekiaan, jurnal ilmiah bereputasi hendaknya memiliki empat poin, yaitu: registrasi kecendekiaan; sertifikasi dan rekognisi kecendekiaan; diseminasi kecendekiaan kepada khalayak; dan dokumentasi kecendekiaan. 

This was conveyed by the Chief Editor of the IJIMS Journal, Prof. Dr. Zakiyuddin Baidhawy, M.Ag, at the Journal Internationalization Workshop, Monday-Tuesday (14-15/12/2020) at Laras Asri Resort and Spa.

 Furthermore, Prof. Zakiyuddin explained that the internet era is an era of information de-massification, "De-masification is a change from the use of communication technology to individual use. De-massification can also be interpreted as an era marked by the increasingly active users or communicants in using the media they use."

Faizal Risdianto, editor-in-chief of the Register journal, said that the event, which was attended by 22 participants from 17 journals within IAIN Salatiga, was the realization of the selection of the Register Journal from the Tadris Bahasa Inggris study program as a journal that received a journal internationalization grant to an internationally reputable journal from the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. 

In addition, after the opening speech by the Chancellor of IAIN Salatiga and the editor-in-chief of the IJIMS Journal, Prof. Dr. Zakiyuddin, the workshop activities were held the Editor-in-Chief of Muqtasid: Journal of Islamic Banking and Economics, Agung Guritno, M.Pd; Head of Journal Development Division and Associate Editor of DOAJ, Yoris Adi Maretta, M.Pd; and Managing Editor of the QIJIS journal, IAIN Kudus, Muhamad Mustaqim, S.Pd.I., M.M.

On that occasion, the Chief Editor of Muqtasid: Journal of Islamic Banking and Economics, Agung Guritno, M.Pd, explained the criteria of editing a good journal manuscript. "In editing journal manuscripts, there are several aspects that must be considered and emphasized, such as the role of editors, section editors, editors in chief and managing editors in observing the manuscripts in terms of novelty, research gaps, similarity checks, and reference checks," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of Journal Development Division and Associate Editor of DOAJ, Yoris Adi Maretta, M.Pd, conveyed the new criteria for DOAJ inclusion. Yoris also leads the mapping and journal review at IAIN Salatiga. Managing Editor of the QIJIS journal, IAIN Kudus, Muhamad Mustaqim,. S.Pd.I., M.M.. added material about the inclusion criteria of journals towards reputable international journals based on assessments from Scopus and Web of Science.
