Jakarta (Kemenag) --- The achievements of scientific journals of Islamic religious tertiary institutions in the international world are getting stronger. Not only in Islamic studies and social humanities, but also in science and technology. As of February 3, 2023, the Valensi Chemistry Journal, which the Chemistry Study Program published, Faculty of Science and Technology, State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, has been indexed by Scopus so that it is itself accredited by Sinta 1. "This achievement shows the credibility of Islamic religious tertiary institutions not only in the field of Islamic studies but also in the field of science and technology as part of the core business of scientific integration, which is also increasing. As one of the conditions for scientific integration, the world of Islamic religious tertiary institutions must also master other disciplines, including social humanities as well as science and technology," said the Director General of Islamic Education, Muhammad Ali Ramdhani, Monday (6/2/2023).
"For this reason, I encourage PTKIN, which has been transformed into UIN, so that scientific integration is immediately developed properly, including through scientific journals. UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has demonstrated this, including indexing the Valence Chemistry Journal in Scopus. I appreciate and thank you for this achievement," continued the man, who is usually called Kang Dhani. The Chancellor of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Amany Lubis, congratulated the Valence Chemistry Journal on becoming a reputable international journal indexed in Scopus. He hopes this achievement can be maintained by continuing to publish journals according to international standards. "This is, indeed, our challenge going forward, so we hope for prayers and support from all parties so that we can continue to work and devote all our energy to the progress of the Valensi Chemical Journal," he said. The Director of Islamic Religious Higher Education, Ahmad Zainul Hamdi, conveyed the same. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the management of the Valensi Chemistry Journal for this achievement. "With this achievement, the muru'ah of higher education in the eyes of the world will be even better.
To go to a world-class
university, the achievement of internationally reputable journals is one of the
keys," he said. According to the man who is usually called Mas Inung,
after only two months as the Director of Diktis, he has found two journals that
have achieved an international reputation, namely JP3I (Indonesian Journal of
Psychology and Education Measurement) and Valence Chemistry Journal. Both are
published by UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. "This is extraordinary. Of
course, this is also a legacy from the Diktis leaders before me," said the
Director of Diktis. Editor-in-chief of the Valensi Chemical Journal, Sandra
Hermanto, explained Valensi Chemical Journal is a research and development
journal in chemistry that is published twice a year with 15 articles in each
issue, and more than 60% of the authors are from outside. "The scope of
the material (the scope of the journal) in each publication is limited to the
field of chemical research with a focus on studies on computational chemistry
and theoretical physical chemistry, environmental chemistry, polymer and
nanocomposite chemistry, organic & inorganic chemical synthesis, natural
product chemistry, food chemistry and medicinal chemistry, biomolecules &
biotechnology," said Sandra Hermanto.
The management team then submitted a submission for indexation of the Valence Chemistry Journal at Scopus on May 10, 2021, and as of February 3, 2023, it was indexed at Scopus. Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology of UIN Syarif Hidayatulah, Nasrul Hakiem, added Valensi Chemistry Journal is the first scientific journal indexed by Sinta 2 managed by the Faculty of Science and Technology. This journal is also the first for the Faculty of Science to be indexed by Scopus. "Hopefully, this achievement will inspire and encourage other journal managers and provide benefits and blessings for all," said the Dean further. Head of Sub-Directorate for Research and Community Service, Suwendi, stated that with this achievement, the Ministry of Religion already has 22 (twenty-two) journals with international journal status with reputation and accreditation at Sinta-1, namely:
