Jakarta (Kemenag) --- Ijtihad: Journal of Islamic Law and Humanity Discourse published by UIN Salatiga indexed in Scopus as of 13 September 2022. Thus, UIN Salatiga now has 2 (two) journals perched on Sinta-1, namely the journal Ijtihad and IJIMS (Indonesian Journal of Islam and Muslim Societies). The last name has even been named one of Scopus's 15 best world-class journals. UIN Salatiga is now the same as UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh, which also manage two journals and are Scopus-indexed. Two UIN Jakarta journals indexed by Scopus are Studia Islamika and Al-Ahkam. At the same time, the two journals of UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh are the Samarah Journal and the Futura Scientific Journal. Apart from these four journals, there are ten other journals published by the Islamic Religious College (PTKI), which have won the status of reputable international journals and are accredited at Sinta-1. The 14 journals: [1] Journal of Indonesian Islam (JIIs), UIN Sunan Ampel, Surabaya, East Java; [2] Qudus International Journal of Islamic Studies (QIJIS), IAIN Kudus, Central Java; [3] Al Jami'ah, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Special Region of Yogyakarta; [4] Journal of Islamic Architecture, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, East Java; [5] Islam Guidance and Counseling Journal IAIM-NU (Ma'arif Nahdlatul Ulama Islamic Institute) Metro Lampung; [6] Al-Ihkam, IAIN Madura, East Java; [7] Journal of Psychohumanities, UIN Walisongo, Semarang, Central Java; [8] Sharia Scientific Journal (JURIS), UIN Mahmud Yunus, Batusangkar, West Sumatra; [9] Ulumuna: Journal of Islamic Studies, UIN Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara; [10] Journal of Islamic Education, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati, Bandung. In addition to winning the title of 15 best world-class journals through the IJIMS journal, it is now followed by the Ijtihad journal, which is translucent with Scopus. Of course, I hope that other campuses will have sufficient concentration so that UIN Salatiga's best practices can inspire others. We will ask that each PTKIN target accredited measurable journal achievements, and we will continue to monitor them together, "said the Director General of Islamic Education, Muhammad Ali Ramdhani, in Jakarta Wednesday (14/9/2022). The Director of Islamic Higher Education, Amien Suyitno, also expressed a similar view. According to this professor at UIN Palembang, a journal's reputation represents our seriousness in achieving a world-class university. This is because scientific journals and publications contain research achievements and academic works of lecturers, in addition to their ability to collaborate with various parties, including researchers abroad. "Therefore, in our opinion, the reputation of a journal is one of the substances or spirits of a university. For this reason, ensuring the presence of policies and budgets for managing journals is an absolute must," said Amien Suyitno.
The Chancellor of UIN Salatiga, Zakiyuddin Baidhawy, is grateful that his campus has again carved a milestone in the form of acceptance of the Ijtihad Journal by Scopus. Of course, this adds to the row of international achievements of UIN Salatiga in scientific publications. "I hope this achievement can motivate and excite other journal activists at UIN Salatiga and the PTKN environment to continue to improve the competitiveness of institutions on an international scale," he said. "I am also happy to have been part of the management of the Ijtihad journal for three periods. Congratulations to the Ijtihad activists who have consistently overseen this journal to achieve the best results," he continued. The Coordinator of the Research and Community Service Sub-Directorate, Suwendi, stated that the significant addition of reputable international journals in recent years was the fruit of the hard work of all parties, both the Directorate and journal managers, who consistently carried out strategic work efforts. "We continue to carry out various short courses on managing journals and improving the quality of research results which are the input for scientific publications. Universities with a strong concentration in the fields of research and scientific publications are the characteristics of a great university," said Suwendi. The Editor-in-Chief of the Ijtihad journal, Muhammad Chairul Huda, stated that the Ijtihad journal is the oldest journal at UIN Salatiga. Registered on P-ISSN in April 2001 and first published vol.1 no.1 in June 2001. In July 2009 accreditation B and SINTA 2 Accreditation were obtained in July 2018. "In April 2019, we, the management of the Ijtihad journal, collaborated with the Indonesian Association of Islamic Family Law Lecturers (ADHKI) to capture the best works from writers who are experts in the field of Islamic law. Improvement after improvement related to management and content is continuously being made. We do not hesitate to study from QIJIS (IAIN Kudus), Samarah Journal (UIN Aceh), Automotive experience (UNIMA), and of course, IJIMS itself," said Chairul Huda. Still, according to Chairul Huda, this journal emphasizes aspects related to the study of Fiqh in the Indonesian context using a socio-legal studies approach. In the study of the Ijtihad Journal, Islamic law can be elaborated with cultural studies (cultural studies), politics, sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, history, philosophy, Islamic astronomy (astronomy), and living law in society (living law). "Last June, bismillah, we made "self-encouragement" submitting it on Scopus. Today, Tuesday Pahing, 13 September 2022, Alhamdulillah accepted. We thank the previous administrators and all those who have worked hard and are willing to "guide" us.
